Before your shoot

For the Ladies

1. Wardrobe Selection:

  • Choose Outfits that Reflect Your Style: Select clothing that makes you feel confident and reflects your personality.

  • Consider Your Body Type: Opt for clothing that flatters your body type. A well-fitted outfit can make all the difference.

  • Coordinate Colors: Think about the color palette and choose clothing that complements your skin tone and the overall mood of the shoot.

  • Bring Variety: Bring a range of outfits, from casual to formal, to create diverse looks during the session.

  • Accessories: Don't forget to accessorize! Jewelry, scarves, and hats can add a unique touch to your portraits.

2. Grooming and Beauty:

  • Hair and Makeup: Schedule a professional hair and makeup artist if desired, or ensure you have a fresh, natural look that enhances your features.

  • Manicure and Pedicure: Well-groomed nails can make a big difference, especially for close-up shots.

  • Skin Care: Stay hydrated and follow your regular skincare routine to ensure a healthy, glowing complexion.

3. Weeks Before the Shoot:

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin looking its best.

  • Maintain Your Routine: Stick to your regular fitness and diet plan to ensure you feel your best on the day of the shoot.

  • Rest: Get enough sleep to minimize dark circles and puffiness.

4. Days Before the Shoot:

  • Confirm Details: Confirm the date, time, and location of the shoot with [Your Name].

  • Pack Your Wardrobe: Ensure all your chosen outfits, accessories, and any special props are ready to go.

  • Eat Well: Have balanced meals and avoid salty foods to prevent bloating.

  • Avoid Sunburn: Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure to prevent redness or peeling.

5. The Day of the Shoot:

  • Arrive on time: Please be respectful of our time and arrive a few minutes early. If you should need help with your wardrobe, leave it in the car and come in to let us know and we can help you bring everything into the studio.

  • Relax and Have Fun: Trust in the process and enjoy the experience. Your confidence will shine through in your photos.

  • Listen to the Photographer: Follow the guidance of your photographer, Jenn, as she has the expertise to capture your best angles and expressions.

  • Stay Hydrated: Bring water to stay refreshed throughout the shoot.

6. Things to Avoid:

  • Over-Tanning: Avoid excessive tanning, as it can lead to uneven skin tones.

  • New Haircuts or Colors: Avoid drastic hairstyle changes right before the shoot.

  • Heavy Makeup: Keep your makeup natural and avoid experimenting with new products.

7. Post-Shoot:

  • Selecting Photos: Your Reveal Session happens the same day of your photo session so please allow time after your photo session to review and select your favorite images. This process usually takes 90 minutes. We also recommend you invite all financial decision makers to be present during this part. We do not allow children under 12 to take part during the Reveal Session as they get bored quickly and can be a distraction to you when trying to make decisions.

  • Products: Consider creating stunning prints or albums to showcase your portraits in your home. Most of our clients choose from one of our portrait collections as well as choosing wall art pieces for their homes.

Remember, the most important thing is to relax and enjoy the experience. Your luxury portrait photoshoot is an opportunity to celebrate your unique beauty and create lasting memories. We can't wait to work with you and capture your essence in every frame. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us. See you at the photoshoot!

For the Gentlemen

Grooming: Invest in a fresh haircut, trim your beard, and ensure your nails are clean and well-maintained. Consider a professional shave or facial treatment if desired.

  1. Skincare: Start a skincare routine in the days leading up to the shoot to ensure clear and healthy-looking skin. Moisturize to keep your skin hydrated.

  2. Wardrobe Selection: Plan your outfits in advance, ensuring they are clean, well-fitted, and appropriate for the shoot's theme or purpose. Bring a few options for variety.

  3. Ironing and Steaming: Wrinkles can detract from the overall look. Iron or steam your clothing the night before to ensure they are crisp and smooth.

  4. Shoes and Accessories: Don't forget about shoes, belts, and accessories that complement your outfits. Ensure they are clean and in good condition.

  5. Hydration and Rest: Stay hydrated and get a good night's sleep before the shoot to reduce puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.

  6. Facial Expression Practice: Practice various facial expressions in the mirror to become more comfortable and natural in front of the camera.

  7. Posing Practice: Practice different poses to feel more at ease during the shoot. Look for posing inspiration online or in magazines.

  8. Communication: If you have specific ideas or preferences for the shoot, communicate them with the photographer in advance to ensure your vision is realized.

  9. Relax and Be Yourself: Lastly, remember to relax and be yourself during the shoot. Confidence and authenticity can make for stunning photos.
